This winter, the sun is strong in Ontario. The provincial government just released the list of public sector employees who make more than $100,000. The list for 2013, popularity called ‘The Sunshine list’, is larger then ever despite pathetic efforts to balance the provincial books.
We have worked hard and have already added 2013 data to LandOfFree.com. There are over 96000 public servants who made over 100K in 2013. Compared to the previous year, this is increase of over 8000 people (11%).
As usual, the highest paid person in 2013 was Ontario Power Generation CEO Tom Mitchell. His salary actually dropped by a couple of dollars which proves that the government is serious in implementing painful budgeting austerity measures.
The honour to employ the largest number of workers from the list goes again to Ontario Power Generation with around 8000 salaries over 100K. This number decreased by two compared to a previous year. Roughly three out of four employees in Ontario Power Generation are on the Sunshine list.
